Last night at dinner Chris asked us all to fold our hands and he started to say Grace. Sam quickly stopped him and said that he would pray. It went like this:
"Dear Jesus, help us drive safe. Amen."
A lovely prayer, and a valid request. Out of context? Yup. It was wonderful to listen to him pray independently for the first time. We praised him, and then advised him to try again by thanking Jesus for our food and our day. Which he did successfully.
So maybe he is just repeating prayers he's heard in the past, but its a step, right? So we talked again about how prayer is talking to Jesus, and what that means. I can't wait to watch his faith grow!
